                                        My review of: The Reluctant Duchess

            Brice Myerston is the Duke of Nottingham; he doesn't have to protect anyone. But he is sure of one thing: Rowena Kinnaird was not placed in his life for no reason. Brice's trust in the Lord is strong enough to know his purpose is to protect her, and he will do just that. Rowena Kinnaird is sure of one thing: she cannot trust anyone. Fear and hate are everywhere, and she can never escape the evil in her life.

          The Reluctant Duchess by Roseanna M. White is the second in The Ladies of the Manor series. Filled with adventure, love, and deception, it is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat. In this story, Rowena must make a decision. Marry a man she just met to stay safe, or let fear sink in and be held captive by the very people she is trying to get away from? When she chooses to marry the stranger, Rowena doesn't give him much chance. Clouded by the memories of her past, she believes he does not have the ability to be kind, or even care. What she doesn't know is that Brice does care for her, but every time he tries to show affection, care, or even kindness, she doesn't believe it. The two must find agreement in the midst of chaos when an enemy attempts to hurt the ones Brice loves to take two rare diamonds he has in his possession. The fire eyes are a deep red diamond often mistaken for rubies, but only those who know the jewels know that are nearly priceless, and could be sold for fortunes. Brice and Rowena experience many trials and victories in this novel, but both put their trust in Jesus Christ, and find renewed assurance. 

       This book, along with all of Mrs. White's novels, is written with so much solid detail and graceful fluidity that I couldn't put it down!! I read it in a single night and now am very anxious for another book to come out!! When I read The Lost Heiress (first in The Ladies of the Manor series), I could see that Mrs. White was a very talented author, and immediately became a fan. In fact, it was a blessing alone that I came across her books. For my last birthday I went to the bookstore for some new books, I decided it would be most fun to pick out random books I had never heard of (or were new) and among them was The Lost Heiress. Of course, since I was captured by the story of Brooke and how she became reunited with her Father, I had to count down the days till The Reluctant Duchess was released. I am so glad I did!! I received this book for free in exchange for my honest review and was not disappointed!! I will continue to follow Mrs. White's books, and recommend everyone to read them!! 

I give this wonderful book five Nottingham Rubies out of five, and eagerly await more books she has to come!!
